What is Facebook Meta Verse | The social network on the metaverse

Metaverse was a term coined by Neal Stephenson in a 1992 novel entitled Snow Crash, which was the first science fiction cyberpunk to use the concept of virtual reality that had been developed alongside mainstream computing. In Snow Crash, Stephenson envisioned lifelike avatars who traveled through realistic 3D virtual worlds and communicated with each other via avatars.

A lot has happened since. Thanks to the advancement of different technologies, virtual worlds are becoming more and more possible each day, so there’s never been a better time to start focusing on reaching out to cultural spaces outside your local community. The ability to bring your business online is one thing you can rely on to help you grow no matter where you are based, even if it’s not somewhere that offers widespread internet access.

In the future, our physical and virtual worlds will be connected to each other. Vast digital universes will exist alongside the real world. Companies from Fortnite to Minecraft have been at the forefront of reinventing entertainment – and now they’re working towards creating a new kind of digital universe that will go beyond games and become a part of reality itself.

What is Meta Verse?

A ‘metaverse’, also known as an ‘Internet-enabled virtual world,’ allows you to participate in this digital universe via augmented reality and virtual reality. For example, you can quickly book a seat on a plane that’s flying around the globe within seconds of deciding to go somewhere (once you’ve entered into this digital dimension).

Venture capitalist Matthew Ball, the managing partner of Epyllion Industries, an investment firm based in New York City, recently blogged on his company’s website. In a February 2021 article, he explained how he believes “we are on the cusp of something massively transformative” right now because the world is currently on the verge of what he calls “the next internet.”

When can we expect to see it?

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Verse, estimates it could take five to 10 years before key features of the metaverse become mainstream. Meanwhile, he believes that important aspects already exist because ultra-fast broadband speeds and virtual reality headsets will be part of our everyday lives soon even though they may not be accessible to everyone yet.

What are some examples of Facebook Meta Verse?

Here’s a look at what’s happening today that could lead to the metaverse of tomorrow:

Meta. The tech giant formerly known as Facebook has already made significant investments in virtual reality, including the 2014 acquisition of Oculus. Meta envisions a virtual world where digital avatars connect through work, travel or entertainment using VR headsets. Zuckerberg has been bullish on the metaverse, believing it could replace the internet as we know it. “The next platform and medium will be even more immersive and embodied internet where you’re in the experience, not just looking at it, and we call this the metaverse,” said Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg last month after revealing the company’s rebranding.

The online haven Nowhere is a product of Windmill Factory, a New York production company that has done various projects starring Lady Gaga and Nine Inch Nails. Launched more than a year ago, the platform is now working to create virtual spaces for people to participate in during their time online. The Sensorium Galaxy recently opened its first world to explore with VR headsets or desktop computers. Prism, the first planet to open up explores VR which offers users futuristic landscapes through music, rather than just viewing it as it expands beyond our solar system.
